Organization for Bat Conservation Training We are the exclusive bat removal company partnered with the Organization for Bat Conservation. Through this partnership, all employees receive training on humane bat exclusion practices, bat detectors, species identification, bat houses, and behavior at the Cranbrook Institute of Science. 2009 Bat Control Season Training - February 19, 2009 All of our staff attended the 2009 bat training at the Organization for Bat Conservation at Cranbrook. The annual training facilitates teambuilding between our company and OBC. This year, we spent time discussing white nose syndrome which is effecting bat populations in the Eastern United States. We also discussed public health issues including external parasites, rabies, and histoplasmosis. The half day of training allowed ample time to discuss different behavioral aspects related to bats. The training has been a great tool to gain a better understanding of bats and their behavior.

As always, Rob Mies delivered exceptional training for our staff. We discussed the recent media attention to the incidence of Rabies in Michigan. One of the highlights to the training was the opportunity to hold a straw colored fruit bat named Congo. Later, I learned that this was the same bat that was held by Conan O'Brien in 2005.

2007 Bat Control Season Training - Feb 2007 Everyone was excited to receive training on Michigan bats at the bat zone. We received training from Rob Mies. Rob is the author of several books including "Stokes Beginner's Guide to Bats" and "Understanding Bats." Rob is also a frequent guest on the Today Show and Martha Stewart Living, and has consulted for National Geographic, Nickelodeon, and The Discovery Channel. We discussed a wide range of subjects including species identification, humane removal practices, diseases, behavior and bat detectors. This was a great opportunity for our organization, and provided invaluable training for our employees.
